I enjoy the straightforward geometry present in commercial and industrial architecture and I create analog collages from structural photographs I take. The photographs provide guidelines that allow my work to go in two directions - I either cover the whole image with painted paper shapes to create representational work, or I allow the image to stay present and create an abstract composition on top of it. The representational pieces satisfy my need for precision and order, while the latter allow me the freedom to create an organic flow of shapes and planes.
